I became a part of the House Doctors family approximately 15 years ago. Steve, the owner
brought
me in to help manage jobs and to help do estimates. I came with the knowledge of doing a
variety of things from digging footers to the construction of entire homes. It was
pretty
much a natural fit. The owner and I were both problem solvers and driven to find
solutions
to customers' problems. As time moved on we continued to grow and take on more jobs and
bigger projects. As years passed we had conversations about Steve stepping back and me
buying the business. As of July 2020, we made the transition and I am now the owner. When
people ask what we do, I like to say we are in the customer service business, in the
field
of handymen. Providing great customer service and solving our customers issues is
what’s
most important. I truly feel House Doctors is a family and could not imagine partnering
up
with anyone else. We can grow as much as we want. It’s totally up to us.
I’ve done construction most of my life and House Doctors is easily the best company
I’ve
ever worked for. The owner is extremely smart, well organized, driven to succeed, and
truly
cares for his employees. It’s rare to find a boss who will tell you “great work on that
job,
that looks fantastic! I’m glad you’re with us!” If you’re a hard worker and looking
for a
company to grow with, this is the one.
The job was very fast pace and I had interactions with a lot of clients and a lot of
onsite
procedures. I answered phones and set appointments, ordered office and business supplies
and
maintained healthy business relationships for the business.
The owner made work not only fun but I also learned many things while working here. I would tell
just about anybody to apply here!
Corporate management was helpful and supportive. They answered questions promptly and
provided whatever training was necessary to set you up for success.
Working at House Doctors taught me to be organize, stay focused, work hard, and have
determination to complete all tasks given. I do not have co-workers due to it being a
small
company, run by one owner. Therefore, I am the only employee and meet all expectations
required. The hardest part of my job is caring too much, I never have a challenge too
difficult and I am always able to complete my work in a timely manner because of my
passion
in this field of work. The most enjoyable part of this job is speaking with people. I
enjoy
meeting new people and accommodating their needs. Customer service is valued to me,
because
my customers play a role in my success. A typical day at work is fun and productive. I
enjoy
my job.
This was my first experience dealing with insurance work, claims, and property damage.
The
most challenging part of this position was completing jobs in a timely and orderly
fashion
due to backorders on materials that were unavailable to purchase over the counter. The
most
enjoyable part of my job was seeing my homeowner’s satisfaction with job completion.
This is a great company! There's opportunity to grow and get to the next level.
